As we were too early we went to see if there were some thin summer pantsin our favorite shop.
No...not ones I would want to wear.
But found tro army coloured normal ones in the sales. They fitted great. Will save me a lot of time preparing for the camp on thursday. No need to look through my stuff, which I had put aside when doing my bedroom, not expecting any camp before september.
Found also a very nice royal blue t shirt.
When paying I found out the pants were halfprice, and because I am a member with app and newsletter, more money was taken off...so in fact I had two pants for halfprice and the t-shirt for free.
Then we went for the eyecheck.
Same woman as last year.
Same issues.
The computer measured something, but when she made me compare images and choose the best, the outcome was different. So...again.
I have had the same issues all my life, so at home we joke about it.
I never had an official diagnosis, but it's called Meares-Irlen Syndrome. It's a perceptul processing problem.
Other symptoms are light sensitivity...check... and problems with depth perception...check. And a few more.
Well, all in all it gave me the feeling of being inadequate.
The check for reading glasses was funny. For the first time in ages I could read the smallest print.
She found that the cataract had worsened a lot.
I think it has worsened a bit.
Anyway, she referred me to the opthalmologist...
(I have to be carefull not to get a bill for the wear of the floors in hospital.)
I couldn't find a frame... suddenly she alked away and took one of the sunglasses. "I don't know how it will look with normal glasses. It looks great on you! My daughter ageed.
But the rim was green...
She put it in the bag.
I didn't feel I had made a choice for that frame.
When my daughters eyes were checked I decided against the frame.
I didn't want to buy that anyway...so why smuggle it into my orderbag?
Turned out it was the last one of the old collection.
Will she do the same to someone else?
I didn't even know the price!!
When I said I would come back next week when Ruben (the owner) would be in the shop, as he is able to decide if I can use my old frame, I was told he wouldn't be in the shop for a long time....??????
In his presence she wouldn't have dealt with those glasses that way...
So we left with a referral and no frame.
What a strange experience in a shop where I have been, with the kids, a customer since 1986...
And now see what the opthalmologist will say.
At the hospital they do the surgery on both eyes during the same surgery.
I don't want that. I want one eye at the time.
