A new bicycle

A few days ago the physiotherapist wanted me to step on my bicycle in a safer way.
It was not much different from what I was doing.
Getting off the bike was a larger problem, was my experience.

We first tried it on the bike in the fitnessroom.
It was firm on the ground, huge, far too high, and offered far too many opportunities to stay safe. It felt like cheating. And strangely enough it made me less aware of my usul bike-behaviour.

So we went outside to her bike.
It didn't feel good, and far too unstable.

When I went home it felt like a useless session.

So when I came home I started to look for a bike with a low entry.
Found one with a lower entry and tried to get in contact with the selller.
Managed to do that, but she didn't give a phone number so I could make an appointment.

So I looked further and found the lowest entry bike.
It was expensive... refurbished, but from a very good bicycle repair shop.
New those bicycles are at least 3 times as expensive.
And I can use it a long, long time. It might ven be the last bicycle I ever buy.

So my daughter fetched it and was very positive about it.

So am I!!!!

Bad weather was forecasted for the evening.

Son2 lives near the friend of my daughter, where she was in the weekend.
They both apped that there was a lot of lightning and thunder.
At the moment the sky was quiet here.

But soon I saw it coming from the back garden.
We had a short shower here, that was all.

I don't like dry lightning.
Nor do I like bad weather with winds from a certain corner of the river.
It blows the clouds to the next river and then it comes back and hangs above us until it's silent.
My gram and uncles used to say it and it's true.

We had hours of lightning!

  1. Oh, I am so excited for you to have a new bicycle! That a wonderful gift!!! Now just wait for some good weather so you can try it out. That sounds like a LOT of lightning! We had a bad storm like that this afternoon also...it blew in across our pond and the trees were blowing sideways almost, and there was some thunder and lightning, but not too terrible. At least we got a lot of rain, which we needed. We are expecting rain for the next several days, so our pond should be happy again! I can't wait to hear about your first bike ride on your new bike. I do wish you'd share some pictures!! Just be careful! (I'm sure I don't have to tell you that! ). Hope you have a lovely rest of your week.
