Today we were informed that there has been an avalanche at the Khumbu Icefall wednesday morning local time.
Three sherpas are missing: Lakpa Rita Sherpa, Pemba Tenjing Sherpa, and Da Chhiri Sherpa.
They were returning from camp 2 after bringing supplies to that camp.
They may have been swepped in a crevasse.
All sherpas had reached the summit of Mt Everest several times and were very experienced climbers.
It was not possible to rescue them.
From the air they could not be located.
The avalanche was at least 5 to 6 meters deep and there is still the threat of another avalanche.
After the night new searches will take place.
The avalanche was caused by a breaking icetower.
There was recent snowfall, and in a few areas near the accident storms were raging.
Right now climbers are on their way to climb Mt Everest in may and june.
