But it's sad you won't.
I am not talking about the women who have their feet up while they're from a nice cocktail, bored by all the riches in the world.
I'm talking about the women who have to suffer the terror of war, of oppression, of being stuck in the house, or have no freedom to walk out on their own, about women who always have to work to provide food for their children, about those who always need to care and don't get even a caring smile. Those who were forced into a marriage without love, who need to have sex for the gain of others or to pay for their children or family far away. Women who are raped by soldiers, by their fathers and brothers.
Women who once grasped for alcohol or drugs to numb their brains and souls and who are stuck in addiction. Women who were forced into poverty because they won't get the money for their work, or those who give their food to others and say no more. Those who are living under the bridge because their socalled husbands kicked them out of the house to stay with a flirt nnd those who live there too because their men gambled away all they had. Women who are closed in their own minds and psychiatric disorders because they got the genetics or the pain of life too often and too much. Women who suffer from cancer because their job exposed them to too much radiation or who comforted patients in the dark hours of life while they should be in protective clothing or behind a lead wall.
Soo many women struggling and too many other people not having one simple look, let alone a moment of care.
I won't go into the injustices I have dealed with in the past, just because I am a woman.
I studied and had a good profession. I always worked for free, so I would be available for my kids when they needed me, and that was a lot of time. The man I married had his study debts paid. Mine are still there.
I am 67 and want to work, and none wants me in what I do best.
If they employ me, I'll get about 20% less income than a man with the same CV.
I can't find a house for myself...because of housing shortage, can't move to another country.
I'm stuck in a situation I don't want to be in...
Like so many women in this world.
So we don't celebrate International Women's Day.
We ask your attention...for just a day!
