Happy Homemaker Monday - 41 -

*** The Weather ***

Today it's a mix of nice, windy, blue with clouds and later maybe rain.
A cold night is expected.... first time below zero celsius.

I have been working in the garden early afternoon.
When I wanted to finish things for the day at 16.00 hours it was rather cold.
Yesterday at the same time it was not as cold, but I had to close the curtains and switch the lights on... It was THAT dark!

*** Right now I am ***

Almost ready with a site that is intended for opinions that are not liked by everyone.
I was asked to make one a long time ago, but it just didn't happen.
Now blogs are more scrutinized for unwanted comments, and this blog (Sylify) is meant for just me, I thought it best to move my very critical texts to another place: The Dutch Witch. It's not completely ready yet. Some white needs to be changed, a button needs the text more visible and there should be a sidebar on the pages.

We use the word witch for someone who has sharp criticism and says things others don't want to hear.

*** Thinking and pondering ***

This week I had many contacts with the veterans.
So much going on.
Before this week I thought that just 5 days for our next stay in London wouldn't be enough. Now I am sure of it. I doubt if I will be able to do everything.
But I want for myself to place crosses in the fields at Westminster., greet a friend near the hotel and see Daniel, if he is on duty.

*** How I am feeling ***

Not well. Tired and brainfog. And all days are the same.
And because of that I missed a lesson.
I just didn't know it was already the 19th.
I have been busy with so may different things, so much with the issues of other people, and so eager to grasp a moment for myself to relax.. that I made a website and forgot the lesson. I didn't even ask my GP for a referral, to exclude some reasons for my kidney issues.
It was not that I forgot..I didn't know I had a lesson today... The calendar was open on the wrong week! (So no preparations, nothing.)

Well, the second time in 40 years.  But it doesn't feel OK.
There were two teachers at the same time, so I assume that the other teacher took my group too, just like I did in the past.

Not one moment during the weekend I realized there was an appointment in the agenda.. I only saw that I was reserve for the first lesson...  and I didn't see an appointment on the calendar (wrong page!), so I didn't go and stupid enough none called me...

*** looking back***

I should have focussed more, but I have been focussed on others..
Since the very low kidneyvalue my glucose is all over the place. I am struggling to keep it under control.  I asked for help, but didn't get any. I am between keeping the highs under control and my body not clearing the insulin, so I can't use too much.

*** On the breakfast plate ***

Nothing.
But had an apple during the morning..

*** on the lunch plate ***

The standard toasted bread with ham and cheese.

*** On the dinner plate ***

Salad, some fries.

*** On the menu ***

In the fridge: things for salads
And there is plenty of soup.

*** What I am wearing ***

Just something easy and warm. But due to the kidneyinsufficiency I still feel cold.

*** On my reading pile ***

More scientific stuff. But I am not reading much. Can't concentrate.

*** On my TV this week ***

In Aller Freundschaft, Fame, Flying Doctors.

*** Looking around the house ***

Better look in the garden. Pruned half of the apple tree. Just the highest part still needs to be done... Hope one of the boys will help. Cleared a lot of ivy (thanks neighbours for nor clearing it away from your side), and got thorny branches of rose and brambles away from the gardenhouse, so they can't be blown against the gardenhouse by the winds.)

*** To-do list ***

It's evening now, so let's say for tomorrow:

Ask GP referral for the doc of internal medicine and endocrinology, to check my pituitary and the metabolic disease I have.
Check on a few veterans.
Get drops for my eye inflammation.
Check the paperwork for London
Finish some blogposts that need another few lines.

*** What I am creating ***

I have to mount the medals of my dad.
A very tiny miniature Forest Wonderland.
1:100 micro-scale proportion
Haven't done anything the past week.

*** In the craft basket ***

Lots of stuff.
Need to find things to make for remembrance day.

*** From the camera ***

Soon!

*** Spiritual ***

The most difficult thing is to forgive yourself.....

  1. Missing just 2 lessons in 40 years seems super impressive. I'm sorry you are struggling with your health issues, hope the doctors can help you to feel better and more yourself soon. The spiritual there is so very true. Have a wonderful week!
