Saw the eclipse yesterday evening.
As it was impossible to get eclipse glasses, I was contect with watching it on my computer and feel the changes in nature from the back garden.
I witnessed a partial eclipse before and it was quite interesting.
But son2 managed to get 2 pairs. Kept one, gave us the other.
He had ordered them weeks before, but the shop sold them in the shop when they received them.
So son2 said they should have given the orders priority as they were first. Added that it was not good for goodwill, as things like that stick in the mind of people and it would cost the shop customers.
They guy managed to get the orderes filled by buying them himself in Germany.
So we were lucky.
As I had the live streams on already (one by the observatorium in town.), we watched the start of the eclips from the front of the house. Until it became interesting.
Took some stools and went to the little lake.
On our way there we saw parents with children and cd's.
Really everywhere people were warned not to do that!
At the lake the nice neighbours joined us.
So the glasses went from hand to hand...
They had made a projectionbox, but it didn't work well. So now they had a good look.
I really enjoyed nature reacting... diminishing light, the birds got silent, temperature went down, a cat came to us like it was looking for shelter.
We didn't have a full eclipse, it was about 90%, even though it looked a bit more.
It was so nice to see, and to witness what happened in nature.
It was for the first time people from the neihbourhood came to the lake.
We should have organised a picknick.
Well, the next one is 2081, and I won't be alive then.
Such a strange feeling!
To be so tiny in space and time.
I won't forget the eclipse, but I will be forgotten...
