Heatwave 2, 2026 - liveblog 4

That was a very hot night... temperature wise... LOL!
26 degrees outside, no lower.
But higher inside the house. About 31!!!

time - temperature

08.27 - 27

There we go again! Pff...

But already news is in:

R. gave me a badge of the parachute event... which extremely surprised me. I assume son2 will bring it home, but it was given to P.
As I love the badge (which is not very original, btw) I am even more happy.
It's nice to know people take me into account.

The Invictus Games will be in Birmingham next july.
As Birmingham, or in fact Wolverhampton, is on my list (Dad stayed there during WW2, I have been there with him twice) I am very chuffed.
Maybe apply as a volunteer... not pushing wheelchairs please. LOL!

08.57 - 29
09.33 - 31

09.57 clouds drifting in.

12.12 - 32
13.24 - 33

Moderate wind blowing.

15.26 - 34
16.23 - 35

The paras had a jump and they came back completely exhausted.
They were clearly overheated.
Someone said something about it in the app and I reacted: "Well, there is a reason a formal red alarm has been issued and people are told to stay away from the sun and any intensive activities. I admire that you came back with all the kilos you have to carry."

Next jump was cancelled. None was moaning, but at least one fell alseep in the hangar.

Daughter went away with her twinsis and a friend to go to a lake.
She had bought a bowl with ceasarsalad.
The ingredients were at the bottom... so when the plastic cover was torn away I couldn't read the tiny letters.
Do you see it coming?

Allergic reaction!

Luckily I didn't like the taste of the chicken, so I took a bit of time to decide whether to eat it anyway.
It's more than half an hour ago...with the usual things I do the pain should be away... It isn't.

On top of it all: it should be a complete meal. It's certainly not enough, not even for me.

The coming days the temperatures will be lower.
But it will be another couple of day to get the temperature inside the house a lot lower.
Right now downstairs is 29 degrees. Humidity 61.
Upstairs a lot more.

I am closely watching the sky.
In less than an hour the red alarm will change to orange for the heat,
but the alarm for bad weather is orange now.

I worry a bit.

More clouds are forming.
Some drawn into extension by the high winds, orthers are almost a guarantee for lightning...

21.50
Now in the whole country alarmcode orange for bad weather.
We're especially warned for large hail. At some places 3 to 5 cm!
Well, my gardenhouse won't survive that.

It has been lightning above and around us all evening.
At times very beautiful. Especially at sunset.
Outside the temperature is down to 24 degrees, but inside!!

I have been looking for a relaxchair for quite a while now.
But they are too expensive for me.
Then I saw one that came more within my reach. And it looked amazingly comfy.
I still had some money on the account of that shop, and as I haven't been to camp, saving me a lot of money...
So I ordered it, in the hope it arrives soon, so I can install it here before the surgery.

It's not very large, so it can serve as a normal livingroom chair, but it comes with an ottoman that can also be used as a stool.
And the colour fits the curtains, I realize now. LOL!

So finsihing today with a severe thunderstorm warning.
A cooler outside, a warm inside and an experience richer.

Good night

.
