Waking up with a war in our backyard is one,
but waking up with the sounds of a very aggressive elite american who feels free to offend while his knowledge about his own and our history is only very limited is more than irritating.
We should be grateful the usa solved our problems?
Huh?
The usa took part in WW2, yes.
But it didn't win WW2!
I have been told that by americans so many times, that it feels like americans have rewriting history in their blood.
Remember we were liberated by the military of many countries, who worked together and worked together with the resistance. Planes left from the UK.
Parts of the south of my country have been liberated by black americans. But this foreign government wished not to honor those men based on the colour of their skin and removed the information from their cemetry in our country!!
And now we are told we need to be grateful!
What is it that those elites want us to be grateful?
Yes, they paid more since WW2. But remember: they are 50% richer than we are.
Taking that into consideration makes the whole bookkeeping look a lot different.
They didn't need to rebuild everything in their country, like we had. Didn't need the defense like we needed, all along a huge stretch of border...a defense against what was and is their enemy too.... so spending money on that was in their own interest too.
Oh, yes, we are grateful!
We are.
So why be blind to see it the way it is?
Or is it worth less, because we are grateful for all who took part?
The allies were a lot of countries.
And the NATO...
It was founded in 1949 by: Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, and the United States.
Now there are 32 members.
All members are equal, and decisions are taken by unanimity.
The usa had/has taken the military organisation as a task. but it can ofcourse transfer the task to another country or group of countries.
Being a teammember is being that... part of a larger unit. Not striving... claiming... to be the better than others.
Not being disrespectful!
Not chest beating like a Bokito.
Trump said, while in the doorway on a plane (leaving the toilet?):
"I will remember."
Regardless of his capacity to remember, and his ways to fill in the gaps, what will he remember?
Maybe the future will show.
But it will also show what we remember.
The trump elite ambushing Zelensky: "You should be grateful!".
Which sounded as: you should crawl for us...
Maybe this is an interesting read: click here (As far as I understand, written by an american.)
Trump went into Iran without any information to congress, no allies.
But he behaves like he owns us, and like he is our leader.
Let's be very clear: he is not!
Like I said before, this is not about a NATO area, nor about the formal rules of NATO.
NATO is a defensive alliance, mainly initiated to protect the freedom and security of its members through political and military means. Most important: Article 5: if one member is attacked, other members come to assist in the defense.
So the whole iranian situation has nothing to do with nato.
Yet...today he called "us" cowards.
I don't think he is aware of what is happening here.
Someone who was happy about the developments in his home country Iran was shot. And attacks like these have happened before.
He has never been interested in the people in our countries.
He would learn a lot....IF he wants to... which I doubt..., when visiting my country.
Not in a formal way.
Just visit me and have a dutch coffee...
and listen.
We are absolutely no cowards and have never been.
But treating us by being a bully doesn't in any way create goodwill.
Oh, and don't forget....
the oil embargo on Cuba....
