What's cooking?

Had a nice evening yesterday with son3 and his wife.
We watched all the wedding photos, and had a simple dinner.

When I went to bed my ankle and foot were hurting a lot. Not because I had done something wrong during the evening, but because the neuropathy was acting up, or maybe there was an obstruction of some kind.
So I moved the leg a lot. After more than an hour it subsided.

The weather was very strange. it was very grey and humid, but the temperature was OK.
So I removed the sweet peas and even managed to get the seeds cleaned up.

Got a warning that a series of chinooks would pass. I could hear them, but not see them. Such a pity!

We, Dutch, sometimes forget that information is not available so free and open in other countries than it is here.
OK, we are aware that some regimes control all information that appears in the media, and some other regimes "limit" their actions to political information. Those well known regimes are not even trusted by their own people.

But we forget there are also socalled leaders who do the same and are able to picture themselves as heroes, or world saving individuals, nearly gods, and the people in their country are not aware or can't even believe that happens in their own country.

Maybe I am more aware that self-proclaimed world-savers just draw part of the truth to the limelight and just go for the applause, at the cost of people who did the work, because I have seen people run away with my ideas. More than once or twice or....

Claiming a cease fire means peace is sort of naive when one knows what has happened after cease fires in the past.
The Keorean ceasefire didn't lead to a peace treaty.
Many were broken.

A cease fire will only last when both parties have a full dedication to keeping the peace, when there are no hidden agenda's, and looking back will show to both parties that the gains are much higher than the hatred and the losses.

It's not the case that this cease fire will immediately improve the situation in Gaza.
We can't revive all those who died.
We can't undo the trauma's of people.

And even when food and medical equipment are brought inside the deadzone.... people can't eat just like that after being starved so long. They will die from normal food.  (refeeding syndrome).
And medical equipment and medication won't be able to deal with the enormous medical needs. Some grown out of effects of refeeding... like cardiomypathy, some induced like epidemics.

Hatred is like an undersurface boiling vulcano. It can't be stopped, as it's undermining all lives.
And all who see it coming and happening have an opinion and stand opposite each other...

So don't believe in the guy who feels he deserves a medal for creating peace.
War is still no computergame for fun and self-exaltation.

Peace is far, far away.....
they just see that a cease fire gies a few gains now.
They soon will find reasons to break it.
