Things to do in Winchester UK

My stay with the veterans in June, will be extended by 2 days.
We will be sleeping 1 or maybe 2 extra nights in Winchester.

I thought it to be a good idea to have a full day in Winchester. (Of course I would like to stay longer!)

Right now I am still working on the list, but for those who are interested the options are there, the info will come.

So looking for things to do:

1. Winchester Visitor Information Centre
   
   
   
2. Winchester Cathedral

   Monday–Saturday: 9.00am–5.00pm,
   Sunday: 12.30pm–3.00pm.
   Last entry 30 mins before close.
   Lots of time exceptions on the site.

3. The Great Hall

   Restauration at the moment.

5. Hospital of St Cross

   the tearoom is closed between 12.30pm and 2.30pm
   
   
6. Westgate Museum (don't forget the view from the roof)

9. The Gurkha Museum

10. The Royal Green Jackets (rifles) Museum
    
    £5.00 seniors £4.50
    Open : Monday – Saturday 10am – 4pm (last admission 3.30pm)
    Closed: Sundays
    Special pass for more musea, including the Gurkha Musum
    
    
11. Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium
    
    For children, mainly schools.
    
    
12. Wolvesey Castle
    
    OLD BISHOP'S PALACE
    Ruins, so might be muddy
    Free
    Open 10am-5pm daily
    
    
13. The Weirs Winchester
    
    Walk along the riverside.
