Unexpected

I got the message: "You're going with me to the camp for 5 days."

At first I didn't want to go. For all sorts of reasons.
My back was terribly hurting me, we almost had the bed ready for me to sleep, the house is a complete mess, because we are re-arranging and I can't do much. I had a few important meetings, etc etc etc. and there were logistic problems: my stuff is at an unreachable place in the house and travel issues.

I said I had problems coming because of the trainstrikes...... within the minute I was told he would come to fetch me.. no worry.
I asked the kids if they had problems with me being away at the deathday of Mr J.
None!!
Well, one is at the campside anyway.

Then I realized he gave me no choice, because he knew monday would be an awkward day, because people would expect me to be the grieving widow again...

So I´ll be going tomorrow for 5 days, camping with the parachutists, right beside one of the airfields.

I said I would stay at the campside during the first jump, because the person who wanted to take me to the dropzone won't be present that day. Book in the bag..
But my son wanted to see me and said they need someone where the parachutists are listed and where they have to report they have safely landed. I would even get a chair ...

So I sense some positive cooperation around me.

Today I heard we will get another heatwave with a record high on tuesday.
So maybe it is wise to go back on monday.. but we'll see.

It's past midnight and I haven't packed everything.

Been busy with veteran care and forgot the time.

I can leave everything as it is and have some sleep and do the rest in the morning.

Take care and stay safe!!

  1. I am very happy for you to have this opportunity! I think your friends and son are thinking about you and want you to get out and so something special! The work at home will still be there when you get back (unless there are some special fairies who will come and do it for you!) Just go and relax and enjoy yourself. Praying the weather will cooperate and it will be a lovely time! I am happy for you!

    1. Thanks. Isn't it great?
Ehhh...the weather... raining at the moment...lightning and thunder expected today... then quickly another heatwave. Tuesday historical high expected.
We're beside the airfield, lots of sun. No protection, especially not during the jumps. So I keep my fingers crossed I can cope. The area is rather far away from here. And due to maintenance on the railways I have to travel a lot of hours extra to get home. So I hope someone can bring me home too, or the weather will change. LOL!
I'm looking forward to the evenings at the campsite, as someone brings his guitar. I'm sure that a bit of humming, will result in the men showing off how good they can sing. LOL!

I hope you won't be too busy and have some time enjoying nature.
      And a tea...

      Hugs...
