Friday 5 - An assuring hopeful kind of a sign

  1. What do you consider nature’s perfect food?

    Literally: blueberries.

But I also like: the sun (not too much), wind, stars and a lot more.
It makes me feel OK, relaxed, part of a lot more..

  2. What was once difficult for you but now seems like second nature?

Hmm, it feels I have landed in another age group. Right now I am dealing with gradual loss of second nature.. especially since I've been confronted with the fact that I can never again walk better than I can now. Those broken ankles were literally a breaking point.

I just can't stand up and walk upstairs to fetch something. I can go up without too much effort...but coming down......

  3. What is your favorite way to commune with nature?

    Hmm, to commune...do I?
I am not often alone in nature anymore.
Most of the time I am with someone or at a place where other people are. Or their noise is...

So let's bend the question a bit...

I would love to spend an afternoon at the fortress near our english campsite... alone... sitting on top of the hill, overlooking the area of the glowing hills of south England.
On top of the cliffs of Wales or on top of one of the mountains in the Lake District. (Been at Great Gable and Scafell Pike..probably the only one on flipflops.)

  4. How have you tamed nature within your living space?

I prune my trees (except for the pine) and keep the unwanted plants at bay.
I have a kind of wild garden. Had a lot of shadow, but the neighbours have cut off their conifers, so I have lost the feeling of an enclosed space where no one can see me (Except the nosey neighbours at the left...)

I prune the berries right after harvest,
Prune the wild rose at times.

  5. When you were you last bitten, stung, or slimed by nature?

I got a wasp stinging me in spring. The last time before was a long long time ago...with an allergic reaction, so it was kind of stressful if I would land in hospital again. It did hurt a lot, but there was no fullblown allergic reaction. Which I expect will be the case when the next sting is within a few years.

    1. Yes, it's wonderful there. We were there with about 5 or 6 people. I let them all walk in front of me. Lots of birds, insects and also a huge array of flowers. I felt surrounded, in a good way. And at the same time I could look enormously far..... Magnificent!!
