Even before we went the time of departure was changed. Son1 wanted us to go an hour earlier.
So we had to hurry...grrr.
I had bought a small Frio Pack to keep my insulin cold.
The large pack gets far too heavy, so I wanted to try a smaller one. Especially as I needed to take less insuline with me than whe going to the UK.
In the hurry I forgot to take it out of the water. So the gell blew up to maximum size...allowing just one pen to be pushed in, and it was almost impossible to get it out.
So I took the large with me anyway....
One of the girls walked with me to the railwaystation, the other had a surprise in mind: a little bag with small presents, like anti-bug, tootpaste etc etc. And a hug of course. Well, she couldn't make it any earlier.
It was a long walk to the station and we were glad to be there.
Going by train right across the south of the country made me aware how green it all was. We have trees and plants here, but seeing the fields up to the horizon was as impressive as always.
The cost of the fare was 3 euro, because my son gets all sorts of offers to travel cheap.
We talked a bit... all in good mood.
Our friend was already waiting.
He is'nt a person of huge welcomes... but I noticed he was glad to see me.
He had told Son1 to bring his tent so there was no need to bring him to the railwaystation in the late evening.
He drove across England the day before, drove today from Rotterdam to the camp, put up the tent, drove to fetch us and it would be another long drive to the camp and again back and fro between camp and station.
He is 70 now, tires far more easily, and likes a glass of wine with his dinner. And I have been very clear that when they catch you driving with a percentage in your blood they may decide to take the car.
So because Son1 didn't bring a tent.. (and P forgot to put a pop-up one in his car) we decided to have dinner in town.

The shrimps were mine. (Without the lemon).
I forgot to tell the waiter I don't like rocket-lettuce and I was very happy it wasn't in it.
After the meal we said godbye to my son, who didn't seem to be bothered he could go back home. Had to work early in the morning. And his office isn't beside his home....so.
We drove all the way to the camping and I was happy to put my stuff in the compartment of the tent, sit down and say "hello" to the people passing on their way to the sanitary building.
To my surprise P said to go to bed at 23.00 hours.
Far too early compared to his useal bedtime.
But I was tired anyway.
He was still rummaging in his compartment when I fell asleep.
