And found another meme back.
Saturday 9 !!
Like I've never been away...
Here we go:
1) In this song, Tom Jones wants to know what's new in his girl's life. Here at Saturday 9, we're concentrating on the new year. What do you hope will be new and different in your life during 2023?
New and different?
Well, I want to move out and live in a tiny house, on my own. Preferably in the UK.
I don't expect it to happen. No money, and a housing shortage here.
I want to find a new GP. Which is a problem, as they work with postcodes here. So a free choice is an illusion. I don't want those in my postcode...they're crap!!
I would love to explore a friendship with someone I've met last year.
Would love to have a garden house. Shabby is OK. If someone gets out a huge bush/tree, and throws a pile of pallets and nails there... I will make one.
2) He sings that he has flowers for his special girl. Are there fresh flowers in your home right now?
No. It's the middle of winter.
I have a huge christmas "thing here", with two large candles..rather chunky, some ornaments a bird and lots of pine branches.
It will be gone in a few days.
3) He also wants to spend hours with her. What is something you'd like to spend more time doing in 2023?
Oh...just said that.
And I want to spend more time with my British friends. They are absolutely great!!
4) Before his music career took off, Tom Jones supported himself by selling vacuum cleaners. Could your home benefit from a once-over with a vacuum right now?
Yes. Since I came back from London (november 15) I couldn't walk for weeks and it still hurts. Someone gave me the present of Covid and probably the flu too, so I have problems breathing. I did the livingroom this morning. That was enough for now.
None bothers to do something here, they're ill, not well, or feel bad. Yea...right...
5) Memorabilia from Tom's 1990 world tour was available eBay and the bids went up to $599 a jacket worn by the stage crew. Have you ever bought anything at an auction (online or otherwise)?
Does ebay count?
But I got a cap from a musical player. It was found in the train and was gifted to me.
I keep it safe...
6) Tom's adult grandson, Alex, represented Wales in rifle shooting in the Commonwealth Games. Is there a sport you'd like to try, or get better at, in 2023?
Parachute jumping. I want to do a tandem, as I'm not allowed to train in this country. Ugh!!
But walking properly is my first aim. It's not a sport for others, but to me it is.
Yes, in fact I did.
He's half my age. Got comments from an older man within a few minutes.
We're just nice to each other, had fun, and I felt "at home". For the first time in my life I felt completely at ease. So why not see what life brings us? (I am not my chronological age anyway. )
8) Also in 1965, The Sound of Music premiered and became one of the most successful movies of all time. Have you seen it?
Oh yes!! Several times.
But not always as my choice. With 2 daughters...
9) Random question: Were you like those shoppers we saw on TV, in line at a retailer after the holidays to exchange a gift that wasn't quite right?
NO!!!!!
Although I have to say that that christmas table piece was a huge shock.
The parents of one of my boy's girlfriend gave it. I have never seen them.
It was far too expensive. We don't have much money, so I felt bad about not being able to return a present like that.
Standing in line to return? No... I almost never get presents.
Have a great weekend!!
Welcome back to Saturday 9!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you're not feeling well. I know it's obvious but I'm going to say it anyway: covid is terrible. I hope it's nothing more than a bad memory soon.
I live in cold and dreary Chicago but I can still find fresh cut flowers at the grocery store. They go a long way to lifting my spirits.
Here's to a great 2023, and hope you meme with us again soon.
So good to see you!!
DeleteHappy New Year to you too.
Not long and I will be staring in the garden in an attempt to get the plants and flowers above the ground again.
See you next week!!!
#4...I have been seeing on the news that people are having problems with breathing after covid. I really hate covid. I had it in September, but not the newest version. So much sickness going around right now. Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get your tiny house! Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend! ♥

Thanks for visiting. My main problem is breathing too. Some people have hardly any problems. As there is so much going round I think I got the flu first...
DeleteHave a nice weekend too!
